ClassmateLinks.com is a service that allows members to create unique personal profiles online in order to find and communicate with old and new friends. The service is operated by Classmatelinks. By using the ClassmateLinks.com Web site (the "Web site") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (this "Agreement"), whether or not you register as a member ("Member"). If you wish to become a Member, communicate with other Members and make use of the ClassmateLinks.com services (the "Service"), please read this Agreement. By joining ClassmateLinks.com you acknowledge your acceptance of these Terms of Use.
This Agreement sets out the legally binding terms for your use of the Web site and your Membership in the Service. ClassmateLinks may modify this Agreement from time to time and such modification shall be effective upon posting by ClassmateLinks on the Web site. You agree to be bound to any changes to this Agreement when you use the Service after any such modification is posted. This Agreement includes ClassmateLinks.com's policy for acceptable use and content posted on the Web site, your rights, obligations and restrictions regarding your use of the Web site and the Service and ClassmateLinks' Privacy Policy.

Our goal is provide you with the ability to stay in touch with your friends, acquaintances and classmates; catch up on their lives, and let them know what's going on in your life. We take your privacy very seriously. These are the rules we live by with regard to your privacy. We are providing them for your review in a way that you can hopefully understand. If you do not like our privacy policy, you have the right to change or erase your personal information and thereby eliminate its availability. Information Collected by Classmatelinks
When you register with Classmatelinks, you submit information such as your name and email address. As part of your Personal Profile, you may choose to submit additional information such as age, hobbies, employment information, familial information, interests, photos, links to other Web sites, etcetera. We will not collect any information about you that you post on your Personal Profile Page except changes in contact information. The one exception to this is in the event the disclosure is required as part of some legal proceeding as further explained in the last paragraph of Use of Information (below).
We also have access to other non-personally identifiable data, which may include your IP address and what browser you are using. We will not share this information with any marketing companies.
Use of Information
We will display the information you provide on your Personal Profile Page. Your name, year of graduation and certain other fields will be set up as searchable. This means that these fields will be "visible" to Internet search engines to facilitate the searches of people who are looking for you. We will use your email address to contact you from time to time to remind you to update your profile, renew your subscription, and for security reasons to confirm that you are who you say you are.
We may use the non-personally identifiable information, like your IP address, to statistically analyze site usage and to customize our site's content, layout and services. The resulting information will allow us to improve our site and better understand and serve our users, but this information will not be shared with advertisers.
We may access, preserve, and disclose your personal information and the contents of your account if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order, or to protect the rights and property of Classmatelinks, its affiliates or the public.
You Control Your Content
Your Personal Profile Page information is viewable by other members of Classmatelinks, and your photo and name will be viewable by the public. By posting information anywhere on Classmatelinks you accept all responsibility and liability for the content displayed. This includes, but is not limited to, links to other sites you make available from your Personal Profile Page and content that you post to Groups, Class or Chapter Pages. Classmatelinks has no way to control who or what you link to, and we hereby dismiss and disassociate ourselves from any and all content that does not appear on Classmatelinks.com. Remember, we will not edit, screen and/or sensor your site in any way. The content you post is your responsibility.
Information provided by other Classmatelinks Members (for instance, in their Personal Profiles, Groups or on the Class/Chapter Page) may contain inaccurate, inappropriate or offensive material, products or services. Classmatelinks assumes no responsibility or liability for any of their content, either!
We have included a link to your email on your Personal Profile Page instead of actually displaying your email address. This added feature is to further protect you from unscrupulous "data miners" who may search Web sites for email addresses. For people who want to contact you this service represents one more "click;" to data miners it represents a headache!
Reviewing and Changing Your Personal Profile
We encourage you to keep your Personal Profile Page updated. You can review and revise your Personal Profile Page at any time. Your identity on Classmatelinks will always be linked to your school photo, and therefore you will not be able to modify the photo that is displayed. If you would like an updated photo as you progress through school, you can send us a new copy and we will change it for you. There is a fee of $5 to perform this function, but it is the only "additional charge" you will incur from Classmatelinks.
Internet Awareness
Whenever you voluntarily post personal information in public areas, like journals, WebLogs, message boards, and forums, you should be aware that this information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by others to send you unsolicited communications. Please exercise discretion in deciding what information you disclose.
Children
Children under the age of ten (10) are not eligible to use our service and must not submit any personal information to us.
Effective Date
This Privacy Policy statement is effective as of October 25, 2007.
Use of Cookies
Although cookies are a standard Internet technology, and many major Web sites use them to provide useful features for their members, we prefer to eat them... not leave them on your computer.
